Ernest van Eck

Prof. Dr Ernest van Eck completed a MA (Biblical Greek) from the Faculty of Humanities, University of Pretoria in 1990 and a DD (New Testament Studies) from the Faculty of Theology, University of Pretoria in 1993. Prof. Van Eck was elected as chairman of the HTS editorial team in 2010. He was appointed associate professor in New Testament Studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Pretoria in 2007, and as full professor in 2011. He is an ordained minister of the Netherdutch Reformed Church of Africa. He studied at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and did his doctorate under professors Herman Waetjen and Andries van Aarde during 1990-1992. He is the author of 36 scholarly articles, co-author of essays and contributor to 5 academic books. Professor Van Eck is member of the New Testament Society of South Africa, the USA-based Context Group Project and the international Society of Biblical Literature. At present, his research focuses on the social-scientific critical and ideology-critical reading of the parables of the historical Jesus. Languages of Preferences: Afrikaans, English, Dutch
Yolanda Dreyer

Prof. Dr Yolanda Dreyer is the Associate Editor of HTS Theological Studies. She is a member of the Society for Practical Theology in South Africa, the International Academy of Practical Theology as well as the American Academy of Religion and its Practical Theology Group. She obtained the degrees ThM from the Princeton Theological Seminary in 1990, DD in Practical Theology in 1998 and PhD in New Testament Studies in 2000 from the University of Pretoria. She has been Professor in Practical Theology at the Faculty of Theology, University of Pretoria since 2000. She is an ordained minister of the Netherdutch Reformed Church of Africa and serves on invitation in the Dutch Maranatha congregation in Johannesburg. Professor Dreyer has published 53 scholarly articles (10 as co-author) and some essays in academic books. She teaches Pastoral Care and Counselling, Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, and Christian Education. Her research focuses on the pastoral counselling with women and sexual minorities, as well as theory formation in practical theology. Languages of Preference: Afrikaans, English, Dutch, German
